Hey all, so a couple of my friends and I have started an art exercise where we all draw ourselves in other artist's styles. This week we picked Herge. Thanks Bridget, Julia, and Iggy for the awesome entries!
Season's greetings everyone! I hope everyone's having a fantastic, fun filled, coal-free time this holiday.
Here's my homage towards 60's style/Hammer Horror-esque movie posters of the past. What better way to celebrate the holidays than with some horror right? Besides, I'll jump at any chance to draw pretty girls and monsters.
This piece was pretty fun to do. Since I'm currently on holiday, this was done all on my trusty iPad. Gotta love technology!
Well, my first movie with an animation credit is so far a success! The main stream seems to be loving Rise of the Planet of the Apes. To further prove it, it's been staying consistently above 80% on rottentomatoes. I can not even express how happy I am that my first movie credit is for such a successful and entertaining movie.
It was a real honor to work on the film along side some of the best talent in the industry. Even though I only had a couple shots, I felt that I learned so much. It was a huge step into a world that I've always wanted to be a part of. A life dream.
So be sure to check out the film when you get a chance. I personally had a great time watching it. It was just simply a lot of fun.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved!
Hey! That's me!
I've had to put a hold on my two personal projects right now. I'm currently super busy on another film that will be soon released, The Adventures of Tintin. In the mean time, here's some art I've done for one of my projects.
My best friend Bridget whipped up some AMAZING custom headphones for me today. With the Rebel Alliance logo on one side, and my call sign (Rogue 2) on the other! And I even like the color.
I've been working on a personal animation piece recently, which has now become more of an animated short. It will be revealed soon with some stills from the short. So stay tuned for that.
In between coming home to do more animation and ... well that's mostly it right now, I have been doing some more drawings. I recently had a dream I saw a clip from the upcoming Dark Knight Rises film. In that dream I saw what the new catwoman would look like. I highly doubt this is what it'll look like, but I thought what mind conjured up was pretty cool. So I took some time to draw down what I saw and remembered. Here's a WIP of it, I'll post up a finished version soon.
Well, after nearly being here in New Zealand for a year, I can now finally show off some projects I've been working on here at Weta.
One of the first projects I was able to work on here was for Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin. I was on the Story Layout and Previsualization team.
For Rise of the Planet of the Apes I was able to do some final animations. That was a huge deal for me. It was intense, challenging, and just plain exciting.
Unfortunately, I still can not talk about any other films I'm currently working on.
Both these films will be coming out this year, so if you're keen on seeing some really amazing effects and crazy cool CG work, be sure to go check them out!
If you ever need a quick nerdy/geeky/funny pick me up in your day, be sure to head over there. There are a ton of great posts, video links, and images. I highly recommend it.
Thanks to John from Superpunch for posting one of my videos, Bridget making the Sarlaac pit. If you're curious to see more of her work be sure to head over to www.dasharts.com
Also Victor's amazing Taun Taun costume and the infamous Octopus video is up on Superpunch as well.
